Associate in Arts
Program Information
The Criminal Justice option explores sociology,
criminology and the basics of public administration and
government, in addition to introducing liberal arts
studies. With course work that explores a variety of
academic disciplines and modes of inquiry, students
have opportunities to increase self-awareness,
interpersonal skills, creativity and civic awareness.
Students also are expected to develop frames of
reference necessary for critical thinking and problem
solving.
Upon successfully completing this program, students
should be able to:

describe three theories of crime causation,
w
describe the criminal justice system, and
w
describe in detail three criminal justice
occupations.
Transfer of Credits
Criminal Justice graduates may transfer credits to a
bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or
university. Please direct specific questions to a Student
Affairs advisor.
*A three-credit internship may be available to
qualified students with approval from the Dean
of Academic Affairs.
